NewComer Organizations Network

 

Are you an organization that assists Newcomers to Canada settling in Peel, Halton? If so there is a networking group established just for you!

The Newcomer Organizations Network (NCON) is a networking group for those that work with Newcomers to Canada in all aspects of their settlement.  The group was founded by the Peel Halton Dufferin Training Board (now Peel Halton Workforce Development Group), that identified the need for such a group though their Trends, Opportunities and Priorities Report (TOPS Report).   

Along with a committee comprised of representatives from local community organizations that serve the interest of new Canadians, we have developed the need into a thriving group with a mission to inform, educate, and network with members regarding programs, issues, funding opportunities and concerns pertaining to newcomers in the Peel Halton area.  To achieve this the group meets quarterly for breakfast networking meetings held on the first Thursday of the month in October, January, April and July from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. 

NCON Meetings are your opportunity to:

Ø       Network with people from other organizations that serve the interest of
          newcomers
Ø       Create partnerships
Ø       Listen to keynote speakers that are selected to serve your interest
Ø       Showcase your agency
Ø       Learn about new programs, initiatives and opportunities
